Nope. Most families begin with three — Family, Work, and one more — and add hats as they go. You can rename and recolor them anytime.

For now, adults get full accounts and you manage everything for the kids. A simpler kid-mode with chore charts is on the way.

Completely. TopHat is a private home base, not a social product. We don't sell data or show ads, and only the people you invite into your household can see what's inside. Delete your household anytime and it's gone for good.

It installs like a native app on iPhone, Android, tablets and laptops, and syncs instantly across all of them. One tap at the store shows up on everyone's screen.

Built by a family that needed it

TopHat started in our own living room. We're Scott & Angie — two parents on the Canadian Prairies juggling pastoring a church, a small business, a houseful of kids, and the dozen invisible jobs that keep a home running. This wasn't made in Silicon Valley.

Nothing out there fit the way our family actually works, so we built the calm, colorful home base we wished we had — and we use it every single day. When you email support, a real human (probably Angie) writes back.
